To see the effects of the Mask layer on its Masked layer, lock both layers.

  1. Click the Lock option for both the text layer and the fiery effect layer.
  2. Both Mask and Masked layers become locked. The shape of the letters in the Mask layer reveals parts of the image in the Masked layer.

  3. Choose Control > Test Movie > in Flash Professional.
  4. As the flame flickers above the text, the letters reveal the fiery texture in the layer below it.
