Summary

As you can see, the January 2014 update to Illustrator CC (17.1) has a pretty decent laundry list of new and improved features. Some of them, such as rounded corners and the Place command shortcut, feel as though they were a long time coming. Other enhancements such as path segment reshape improvements, custom tools panels, and the Pencil tool enhancements hold great promise for productivity improvements. Overall, it’s a worthwhile update, and it’s exciting to see new thoughts and energy behind some of the tools and functionality that has been in the program for a long while.
